As our world becomes increasingly more interconnected, it is important for our students to become globally aware and globally competitive. This activity will provide an opportunity to develop a depth of understanding around elements Ia, IIb, IIIc, IIId, and Vb of the Rubric for Evaluating North Carolina Teachers.
There are multiple tables set up around the room. Each table highlights one of the five educator evaluation elements (Ia, IIb, IIIc, IIId, Vb)connected to global awareness. You will have 10 minutes at 3 different tables. Listen for your cue to change tables.
Using the North Carolina Teacher Evaluation Process Manual (a hard copy is provided) critically analyze the language in the element at your table. Highlight and annotate the critical terms of global reference. As you annotate the text, consider the descriptors aligned with each of the ratings within the element and identify teacher/student behaviors that result in obtaining each performance rating. Discuss your findings with a partner.
Discuss the Question to Consider listed below for the element being discussed at your table. The element number and Question to Consider are also written on the table tent available at each table.
